12 March – “Love’s Fool” An artist, Pygmalion, feeling women have become degraded, carves his ideal of perfect womanhood in stone. He falls in love with his statue, prays she come alive. She does, and he learns that ‘real’ and ‘ideal’ are very different!

9 April – “Rebirth” As Nature is born again we bring tales of strange rebirths, second chances, new beginnings. Featuring dismembered & remembered poets, strange warmth for an Eskimo and how to turn your lover into a tea-set.

14 May – No Stories On A Sunday as Giles Abbott will be performing as part of the Venice Biennale

11June – “Arabian Nights – The Fisherman & The Genie” Tales  twist & turn as a fisherman tries to outwit an evil genie. How does a doctor kill the King he loves? How did a young King come to have stone legs and who are those talking fish? All from the mouth of a brilliant young woman telling tales to save her life in one of our favourite sequences from one of the greatest collections of stories in the world

9 July – From Borges to Bugs – Jorge Luis Borges is a writer of global renown who wrote only short fiction and poetry. Difficult, abstract, a pioneer of Magical Realism, this telling is an introduction to this dazzling writer and traces the links between his work, Magical Realism, Mayan folk story and to characters who crept into all our childhoods.

13 August – Patched & Mended – Life is a patchwork; we make do and mend. In Welsh myth, two young men leave war and find peace, but will it last? In real life, a young man goes suddenly blind – how will he answer this challenge? Find out in an uplifting story of destruction and rebuilding, loss and gain, disaster & recovery, threading ancient mythology & contemporary true life telling into a glittering whole.

10 Sept – Lightning & Lies – plus hammers, horns & unconvincing drag artists from Norse mythology. Well, can you imagine Thor in a frock? Rollicking Viking stories at their very best!

8 Oct – The Fall Of The House – 19th Cent England. A ruined house & a young man come to strike a bargain with death. Can love knock on Death’s door and force it to open? What will he trade in this Poe-esque ghost story which will send shivers down your spine & bring tears to your eyes?

12 Nov – Amazons! They hunt! They fight! They run wild and free and they don’t need men (nor are they an internet-based distribution company) – Stories of free and wild women; magical, exciting and erotic.
